Design and original service

Every project starts with an idea. Our design and original service helps you visualize concepts and ideas for both indoor and outdoor applications. The first action is to identify possible placements, take measurements and setting design parameters. We will always guide you to find the most suitable and functional materials to deliver a safe, secure and visually attractive solution.

Survey and inspection of drawings

Making sure your drawings fulfill all necessary SOLAS-rules and standards, which is is a key part of your ship signage project. We perform onboard surveys, documenting all necessary actions needed to verify that your drawings are in compliance with governing IMO rules and marine regulations. We will also provide a complete ship drawing archive. All information is handled with the strictest confidentiality and we always transfer ownership rights to our client.

Project
management

One of our strengths is our extensive experience from the marine sector. At Lexidor, we have over 100 years of experience of delivering secure, safe, compliant and cost effective signage projects for the marine sector. We know how important planning is to keep a project on time and within budget frames. Our project managers start by identifying the different stakeholders in your project and the overall project purpose. As part of the project you will receive a complete digital plan detailing costs, deadlines, deliverables, responsibilities and a set deadline for completion of the project.

Professional
mounting

The devil, as the saying goes, is in the details. The mounting is a small yet important detail. It needs to be exact, both from an aesthetic and formal standpoint. Precise mounting is our specialty and we never compromise in making sure your signs are mounted exactly according to formal regulations and design requirements. Our staff has the correct equipment and training to ensure every part of the sign system is mounted in a professional way.

Survey
and inspection

To prepare an inspection, a general arrangement or an escape plan is needed. When performing a survey of a ship, we divide the signage systems into Machinery spaces, Cargo spaces, Accomodation spaces and outside the ship. To create a clear picture of what signs are needed in order to fulfill all rules and regulations – and to map up the location of every sign – we use our in-house developed manual. The manual refers to the applicable regulations for all systems and describes the philosophy for every system. It also provides solutions when combinations of different systems are available to keep the purpose of the signage. After each survey, the client gets an overview report to enable decision making.

Low Level Lighting inspection

Lexidor AB is certified to perform control measurements of Low Location Lighting systems (LLL systems) by DNV since 2009 and by Lloyd’s Register since 2014 according to IMO Res. A.752 (18). LLL-measurements should be performed every year in parts of the ship, when a new installation is made and every 5th year totally. We perform control measurements off LLL-systems using digital instruments that can simulate darkness and we also make an optical control. After your inspection is completed you receive a protocol verified by a controller who is authorized by DNV and Lloyd’s Register. The protocol is a detailed description of the measurements in your system and can be used for approval by the supervisory authority.

Technical signs

Technical signs aboard a ship or vessel plays a vital part in creating a safe and secure work place. Our family of technical sign products, range from the small and simple to large and information heavy signs and displays. Engraving

If you need engraved signs for marine and maritime applications, our laser and mechanically engraved signs are a great choice. Using our CO2-laser, we engrave signs up to an area of 1220x610mm. Different materials are more or less suitable for different environments. We will guide you to the correct materials and a solution that fits your budget and design requirements.

LLL - Low Location Lighting

We have a long history of planning, producing, mounting and verifying a large number of successful complete evacuation systems for vessels worldwide. Our complete evacuation systems are in accordance to the international standard, beginning at individual rooms via the description on the escape plan to the last exit door.

Product qualities

All our products offer high level afterglow qualities and contrast. For every LLL-solution we deliver, our clients with also receive a full stack of documentation. The documentation includes a clear description of the complete system, product sheets and references to applicable rules, regulations, laws and standards.
